On September 11, 2001, 2,996 bright lights were extinguished. This is one candle's story.

Carl Max Hammond

Max Hammond was a guy much like one of your friends. He loved NASCAR and WWF and life. He had just moved to Derry, NH, with his MITRE defense job earlier in the year and bought a house. I believe he was also engaged to be married. Co-workers and friends recall how he bought gifts for their children each holiday.

...no, really. I was flattered to see I was nominated for A Gracious Home's Blogs of Beauty Award for the "Best Meet for a Mocha." Of all the categories, I think that one was the best. If I could, I would have you all over for some hot chocolate and a good movie and we can dish about life and the goodness of the Lord. I didn't win but thanks for thinking of me.

Ps Obviously I didn't get the "Timely Post" award either. The awards were in July!! :) Bwahahaha

Do you realize that Christians all over the world at this moment are being intimidated, tortured and even murdered for their faith in God? Right now there are Christians imprisoned because they refuse to renounce Christ. We should never forget.

I highlight a story from VOM blogger Stacy Harp about Ethiopian Christians being tortured for their faith, even being hung on a cross. Read the story here.

Please pray that these Christians and others like them will stand strong in their faith and lead many to Christ. Pray for them to be bold and courageous, and for the safety of their families as well.

Principium BPA Home Educators Network receives no money from advertising or outside sources. It has been a labor of love and not a business. We need to know you want Principium to continue to offer links, articles and files that BPA home educators need.
Mother's Day, weddings and graduations are coming up. Why not give a handmade book?

This week I am offering a special on my handmade books. A 120 pp. book with coptic binding to lay flat, it's suitable for journaling, notetaking or to give as a gift. Due to the varied availability of paper, you will not be able to choose your cover. But I promise you will like it! See an example of a coptic stitch here. The covers may have handmade paper and the text pages are heavy white drawing paper, so you don't have to worry about bleeding through the paper with markers or paints.
If you buy this week you can get yours for only $25, postage paid. (My regular price is $40.) If it is for a gift, I can gift wrap and drop ship for free, along with a nice note from you.

I can accept PayPal at hawthornefive@hotmail.com or you can contact me for my snail mail address or to answer any questions. And you can visit www.annahawthorne.com to see that my work is quality. I have been making books for many years and love creating something people can use. If you would like a more elaborate project, for a wedding or special occasion, contact me for a free and we will create the perfect gift or memento.
